Verona, the second largest city of the Veneto Region after Venice, has one of the nicest medieval centers in Italy, especially the area around Piazza delle Erbe. Below is the map showing the main attractions in this part of Verona.
Hold your mouse over the markers to identify them on the map. Zoom the map using the controls on the left to see the attractions in more detail.

Verona's Top Attractions
Piazza delle Erbe - Verona's fruit and vegetable market is now dedicated to mostly useless tourist trinkets, the the square is still magnificent. Take a walk (or the lift!) of to the top of the Lamberti tower to get an overall perspective on medieval Verona.
Casa di Giulietta - go ahead and rub the right bronze breast of Giulietta for luck in love if you're so inclined. The courtyard, where you'll see the Juliet's statue and the famed balcony is free. Going into the house costs.
Verona Arena - Roman era Arena in which modern performances are still held. See above for how to get tickets. You can also visit inside the arena, best done with a Verona Card, since €6 is a bit steep for what you'll see. Get your Verona Card at the Arena ticket office and start from there. You'll pay €10 for a day of free museums and local buses, €15 for three days.
Verona Castle - Very interesting place to walk around in. Museum has a ton of religious art, which can get tedious after a while, but entrance allows you to walk the ramparts.
Verona Duomo - Visit the ornate romanesque church, then go slightly below ground to take in the earlier "pagan" temple. You'll have to pay to get in unless you have the Verona Card.

Verona's historic center is located inside a sharp bend in the Adige river, as you can see from our map. If you go into the Arena, you'll see a plaque commemorating the high water in a remembered time of flooding.
