Como: Best Time to Visit
Because of the deep lake and its northern Italy location, the best time of the year to visit the Lake Como area are from late April and extend through the summer months, although it can be crowded with folks from Milan escaping the heat of the city. September and October are the best times to go in fall, although the major ferries run even later in the year.
Note that the evening temperatures cool dramatically, so even if it's warm, it's unlikely to be hot at night. This is a big reason people come to Lake Como in Summer.
